The Real-Time Logic Engine is a bi-directional, high performance Boolean logic engine designed to function as an OPC bridge and consolidator. RTLE is able to read and write to multiple underlying OPC servers while applying Boolean logic and transforming data in real-time. For more complex processing, a full featured scripting language is available providing you with the ability to create your own functions. A powerful trigger-and-action capability is built into RTLE’s data handling allowing for sophisticated monitoring, calculations, and automated responses.

The administration of the Real-Time Logic Engine takes place through an ActivEssentials interface. You can centrally manage all instances of RTLE while each runs as stand-alone servers distributed throughout your facility.

Activplant’s Throughput Analyzer application makes extensive use of an RTLE configuration to do complex data transformations that drive key performance indicators such as the Throughput Capability Metric. It is the combination of trigger-and-action, powerful logic processing, and high-performance data handling within RTLE that allows Activplant’s Throughput Analyzer to monitor and analyze both large and small scale manufacturing operations and to identify constraints to product flow in real-time.
