The ActivEssentials Platform

The ActivEssentials Platform is the multi-component system at the heart of the Activplant solution. Depending on your needs, ActivEssentials scales easily to meet the needs of your organization. We have deployed our platform in production environments that build complex assemblies with hundreds of machines and in others that use just a few yet produce thousands of units per hour. If necessary, this scalable solution is distributable across several servers. Built on Microsoft technology, the Platform requires Windows servers, SQL Server and Microsoft web servers.

ActivEssentials Structure and Key Features

Data Collection. ActivEssentials automates and manages the collection of any volume of plant floor data produced by the enterprise.

Data Analysis. ActivEssentials promotes the standardization of plant floor analytics, to both enable real-time key performance drivers, and the provision of the in-depth, historical information so necessary to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Enablement. ActivEssentials supports personnel in their pursuit of continuous improvement programs, from the plant floor to the executive suite, by providing the right information to the right people at the right time, in the most useful and appropriate way.

Integration. ActivEssentials can expose and propagate the right data to the workflows and business systems used within the organization, through standardized software interfaces, to drive business processes and analysis across the enterprise and corporate supply chain.

The Activplant Universal Factory Data Model

At the heart of ActivEssentials is the Universal Factory Data Model (UFDM). The patented UFDM is a standard data model that faithfully emulates production flows across a variety of manufacturing market spaces, from automotive, to forestry, to high speed bottling. Because of the UFDM, organizations can implement Activplant software in weeks rather than the typical months or years. You can quickly configure the Activplant solution to see data in multiple dimensions all within a proper context. With the UFDM, you can quickly add additional data collection from plant floor machines, add new calculations, and seamlessly scale across multiple plants, all with an out-of-the-box solution.
